There are more 190P than yesterday so I would say yesterday's 190P buying was BTO.

Dollar weighted volume for this week:

I can see only Put selling which is bullish.

DWV for next week:

It's mixed so I don't have anything to report here.

DWV for monthly:

Calls are actively traded and I would like to keep watching to see if there is bullish development.

2016/02/03 SPY Options Wrap Up

SPY gapped up this morning but sold off sharply, then responsive buyers showed up. Spirits of BTFD!

SPY finished just above 5SMA and it is encouraging. Can I say bear trap?

Option activities were also bullish, at least in near term.

OI is still skewed to call side.

Call buying were a bit stronger than Put buying for this week. SPY might pin at current level (190-191ish)

There was strong call buying activities in next week.

There was active Put buying for monthly. At this moment, I can't determine if those Put were Buy to Close or Buy to Open. We will see next morning when CBOE releases latest Open Interest.

Overall, I'm still bullish for near term as well as medium term.

2016/02/02 SPY Options Wrap Up

SPY gapped down this morning and finished lower with positive divergence.

While SPY went lower, options had interesting activities.

As you can see, there were HUGE 02/19 Put sellers today. That was $14.5M!

Most of those puts were 02/19 190.00. The first big selling occurred from 09:41:46 to 09:45;06, and second wave happened at 10:21:32.

SPY may go down further but those put sellers are betting that SPY would end up at least 190 (minus 2.75 premium) on Feb 19th.
